Round Two

Today I donated blood for the second time in my life. I was expecting it to run just as smoothly as the last one but I was wrong. Luckily I was the first one there so I didn't have to wait in a long line like I did last time. They prick one of your fingers to get a sample of your blood as a preliminary test or what not. I don't remember it bruising last time...After that I sat in the donor chair and hoped the girl performing the procedure was competent. They have you pump your arm to find the best vein. She decided against the vein that has been used twice; once for tests and the other for donating. That should have been my first red flag. After she marked the vein she got the needle ready. In the previously mentioned blood procedures the tech got in the vein on the first try. Not this lady! She poked around a bit which was super uncomfortable. Finally she had another lady come over to find the vein. New lady, "You were there, you just needed to push it in a little farther." Original lady, "I thought I was poking it." She thought that because she was. I'm pretty sure I'll have a bruise on my arm unlike last time which might be cool. I'll keep you updated.

This is what I get for trying to contribute to society. Definitely a Badge of Honor.

Viva Telemundo!

So I'm sitting here in my receptionist chair at Redwood Tax. This is only weird because I don't really have a job here. I'm the stand-in receptionist for the commercial that Dallas is putting on the Spanish channel. I had to point out how to fill out a tax form as part of my acting duties. I nailed it. I could get used to this having a job thing haha

One Year Anniversary

Since I only have a few minutes left in the 23rd day of November I thought it would be appropriate to blog about my only real significant one year anniversary; the day a car drove into Alphagraphics on Main Street in Bountiful while I was inside the building. I figure at 19 that seems like a pretty significant one year mark. Hopefully more fulfilling ones will enter my life eventually. Not too soon though.

Newest Adventure

My latest adventure might come as a shock to some. It was a blind date. I was set up by Dallas and a guy he goes to the U with. It was the guys little brother. His name is Bryson Shreeve, we're engaged. NOT! That little joke was for those of you think BYU is only good for making people fall in love. Meaning that blind dates don't mean instant marriage. I'll be single for a while down here, no need to worry. I think I'll start looking for a job because I realized that 4 years from 19 is kind of a while...Oh well. The date was fun. There were three couples. We went to the boys' apartment and made pizza, then went to the boys basketball game in the Marriott center. I guess it went pretty well as far as blind dates are concerned. The awkward level was pretty low and the fun level was pretty high. As for a second date, I'm not sure. He did just add me as a friend on Facebook today. That means things are getting pretty serious. That's all for now.

As a side note, if I were Kate, today would be my wedding day.

YIKES!

Finally, what we look like!

I thought it was time that I showed you what my roommates look like. I also included some pictures of our apartment, mostly just the Halloween decorations I put up.

From L-R: Taylor Richards, Virginia, and my immediate roomy, Me, Ashely Jeanette Carter, Louisiana and Family Home Evening mom, Laura Nicolas, California, Alicia Chidester, Texas and training for 5th marathon, and Diana Blaeur, Idaho and a high jumper on the track team.

My Piece of the East Coast

My favorite tree is right by my building. All I have to do is cross the street and I'm there. How convenient is that? No need to jet off to Vermont when I can accomplish all the same right in my own front yard! Minus the fact that I'm still in Utah while the rest of the family is having a very fun vacation and I'm stuck with homework and no Fall break, the trees here around Provo are doing the Vermont trees justice. I am enjoying hot apple cider while I post this blog so I actually am enjoying the Vermont experience, even if it isn't Cold Hollow Cider. We'll just have to photo shop me into all the sweet pictures that I'm sure Dallas has been taking and save me a spice doughnut or two.

Homecoming Weekend

Woods Cross has their Homecoming Game this weekend. I will be in attendance. I have been craving Chinese food (Wok Lin) for the majority of the time I have been down here. I would love to make an event out of it. I will be leaving sometime Saturday so it could even be an early lunch. Spaghetti Factory could also be a lovely alternative. These are just some ideas for the return of the Princess...
